Artist’s Statement

Filmmaker

I am a graduating senior from the University of Kansas with a B.G.S in Film with an emphasis in production and also a B.G.S. in History with emphasis on United States History from 1860-1960. I am a cinematographer by trade, but I enjoy all aspects of filmmaking. I have wanted to be in the film industry since I was four years old and I have worked very hard to get to that goal. I have enjoyed the production process with the students at the University of Kansas, and then I have worked on multiple projects for and outside the classes of the University of Kansas. I am working towards creating better art than I have created. These are all examples of how I was able to work through adversity to meet a deadline or learn a new skill. I look at history through a new glass and have seen that ther are more stories to be told from it. This site will have some of my written work from my time as a history and film student. Most importantly there is my senior thesis on the Brown vs. Board of Education case. There are three short films in which I was the Director of Photography for which are the three best shot of the comedic shorts. I am looking forward for the feedback on my works and I hope to post more soon.
